Czech company Nanopharma comes with NanoMatrix3D®. It is a nanofiber structure that serves as a cell carrier for construction of new tissues and regeneration of injured ones. NanoMatrix3D® is the result of six years of Nanopharma material engineers collaboration with scientific teams across Europe and the USA.
NanoMatrix3D® products are primarily designed for research, development and experimental purposes for scientists working with cell cultures. They are made from biodegradable polymers which are typically used in the field of medicine, e.g. for preparation of tissue substitutions, hernia meshes or sutures.
„Nanofibers have proved to be a very functional and promising material for use in regenerative medicine. The main advantages, in addition to the actual 3D nanostructure, also include the biocompatibility, ease of handling, reproducibility and affordability, which makes this product attractive for future transfer into clinical use, „says Liliana Berezkinová, chairman of the company Nanopharma.
The development of tissue engineering is mainly due to the lack of suitable organs for transplant. For several years, experts have been trying to create new tissues or even entire organs. One way is to use body own cells, in which the immunological reaction is supressed and there are no postoperative complications in the patient. But in order to be able to use such cells, it is necessary to develop a cell carriers from biomaterials which serve as supporting structures for their growth. „Medicine of the near future will be able to produce for humans the entire replacement organs and body parts using nanotechnology and our own stem cells,“ explains Jiří Kůs, chairman of the Association of Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association.
Nanopharma is a technology company specializing in research, development and production of innovative materials solutions using nanofiber structures. Since January 2016 a member of the Association Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association.
